A very warm welcome to Carrickfergus Grammar School, a thriving, exciting, ambitious and thoroughly aspirational selective Controlled school which is currently ranked as one of the top 2 selective Controlled Schools in Northern Ireland for GCSE results.
Our main aim is to offer our children a world-class education, reinforced by the most robust research-based evidence into high-quality learning and teaching. The Carrickfergus Grammar ‘brand’ of learning and teaching is a brand which we firmly believe will ensure our pupils are exposed to high aspiration, high expectation and huge opportunities in order to surpass potential. No labels, no limits, is the mantra of this school. This is all achieved within an atmosphere which we describe as warm and strict. We care for, support and guide our pupils, and endeavour to build their resilience at every opportunity. We believe in the good, old-fashioned principles of manners, honesty and hard work, and we adopt a clear zero-tolerance approach to behaviour which disrupts learning.
