Children's Mental Health Week

This week is Children's Mental Health Week and Carrickfergus Grammar School are working with the charity Action Mental Health and a local Trussell Trust food bank.

A good walk can do wonders for your mental wellbeing. It improves self-esteem, mood and sleep quality, and it reduces stress, anxiety and fatigue.

Together we want to challenge you to go for a minimum 20-minute walk (or more if you can!) to help us as a school complete 3171 kilometres which is the distance around the island of Ireland. If every pupil from Year 8 to Year 14 was to complete just 3 kilometres we would have completed 2/3s of this challenge!

How to get involved.

  1. Download MapMyRun/Strava or any similar free app

  2. Go for a walk and record your distance using the app

  3. Screenshot it

  4. Email this screenshot to rbutler878@c2ken.net or add picture to the PE google classroom

You may submit as many screenshots and walks as you wish

We have until 3pm on Friday the 12th to complete our challenge!
