Eco page welcome
Carrickfergus Grammar School became an Eco School in October 2007. The school was awarded the Bronze and Silver Awards and then achieved its first Green Flag in May 2009. Through its constant work, and led by an enthusiastic Eco Committee, a second Green Flag was awarded to us in November 2012.

The Eco Committee's aim is to raise all pupils' awareness of eco matters such as energy saving, waste minimisation through recycling, litter reduction, eco-friendly means of transport to and from school, etc.
The Committee is also aiming at making our school as eco-friendly as possible by encouraging all pupils to participate to either routine actions (e.g. recycling paper and plastic bottles) or special events (e.g. European Week for Waste Reduction, Walk to School Week, etc.).
